The Mega Technology Corridor which will revolutionize Türkiye’s innovation ecosystem has been established. Bilişim Vadisi, which was launched in 2019 under the National Technology Initiative vision, has arrived from Kocaeli to Istanbul, then to Izmir and Baku. The official opening of Bilişim Vadisi Izmir, Bilişim Vadisi Istanbul, and Bilişim Vadisi Baku was celebrated in Izmir.
With the inaugurations realized by Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, the Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mustafa Varank, the Minister of Technology and Industry together, Bilişim Vadisi, Türkiye’s technology and innovation hub, has taken a major step in becoming a national brand.
Speaking at the ceremony, while Mr. Kasapoğlu said, “From now on, Izmir will continue to pioneer, produce, and become a frontrunner as a pioneer city of national technology,” Mr. Varank said, “Thanks to this corridor, technological and economic relations between Kocaeli, Istanbul, Izmir, and Baku will develop, and mutual experience transfer will be strengthened.”
Official Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration program held at Bilişim Vadisi Izmir campus was attended by ministers Kasapoğlu and Varank, as well as the President of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency Ali Taha Koç, Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, AKP Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ, AKP MP Alpay Özalan, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, General Manager of Havelsan Mehmet Akif Nacar, KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization) President Hasan Basri Kurt, TSE President Mahmut Sami Şahin, TURKPATENT President Cemil Başpınar, AKP İzmir Provincial President Bilal Saygılı, AKP Youth Branch President Eyyüp Kadir İnan, Izmir Institute of Technology Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, Izmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar, Izmir Democracy University Rector Prof. Dr. Bedriye Tunçsiper, Izmir Bakırçay University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Berktaş, Azerbaijan Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Rashad Aliyev and many other academicians and guests.
At the ceremony, Bilişim Vadisi Introductory Film and Mega Technology Corridor Welcoming Film were also demonstrated. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kasapoğlu said the following:
A Frontrunner: We are opening one of the important stages of our national technology initiative in Izmir with Bilişim Vadisi. From now on, Izmir will continue to pioneer, produce, and become a frontrunner as a pioneer city of national technology. I wish you all the best.
We Are Everywhere: Türkiye is now a country marching towards its dreams. We are wherever we need to be; air, land, and sea. We are there with the children of this country. We are there and we will continue to be there with the precious children of this country who never refrain from taking the bull by the horns, who are rich in heart and soul.
Leadership Vision: There is a great leadership vision in Türkiye’s 21-year transformation and its future horizon. And that leader is H.E. Mr. President. Thanks to his vision, his strong stance, and the spirit of leadership in his heart that paves the way and creates opportunities, the children of this country, with their national spirit, will continue to be at the forefront, to be pioneers, to produce, to mark a new epoch, and to go beyond their borders and reach new horizons in the future, as they do today.

Türkiye’s Largest Technopark: We are expanding Bilişim Vadisi to Izmir, Istanbul, and Baku upon the opening of the Mega Technology Corridor. If you remember, we inaugurated the Bilişim Vadisi, Türkiye’s technology hub, in 2019 with the presence of our H.E Mr. President. Bilişim Vadisi, built on an area of 3.5 million square meters, is now the largest technopark in our country. Since its establishment, Bilişim Vadisi has been pioneering the transfer of the successes we have achieved in the defense industry to the civilian field. Bilişim Vadisi is hosting nearly 500 companies in Istanbul and Kocaeli campuses in a variety of critical sectors ranging from mobility to information and communication technologies, software to design.
A Strong Technological Platform for Izmir: Bilişim Vadisi İzmir, which was first signed by Mr. Binali Yıldırım and then included within Bilişim Vadisi, has an indoor area of 63 thousand square meters. It will host many local and foreign technology entrepreneurs. It will employ more than 6 thousand people. It will be a strong platform focused on mobility, connectivity technologies, smart cities, cyber security, design, and gaming technologies, particularly health and agricultural technologies.
An Important Step Has Been Taken: Bilişim Vadisi İzmir was our 2018 election promise. We promised and we did. Bilişim Vadisi Istanbul has also started its activities. The Mega Technology Corridor has expanded internationally to Baku. This is another major step in making Bilişim Vadisi an international brand. This corridor will improve technological and economic relations between Kocaeli, Istanbul, Izmir, and Baku, and strengthen the mutual exchange of experience. Collaboration and partnerships will be encouraged, contributing to the production of new technologies, products, and services.

Prof. Dr. Baran, Izmir Institute of Technology Rector, stated, “Our country has become a pioneer in domestic technology production as a result of our President’s policies.” Bilişim Vadisi Izmir will be one of the most important stations along the crucial technology corridor and will make İzmir a global attraction center with the added value and the collaborations it will realize, and the contributions it will offer to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
After the opening speeches, the ministers and the accompanying delegation visited the Bilişim Vadisi Izmir Incubation Center.
Centers Were Inaugurated
Teknopark Izmir B1 and B2 buildings, Incubation Center, Wind Energy Research Center, Cellular Imaging Research Center, Bioengineering and Food Engineering Department Service Buildings, and dormitories with a capacity of 1,000 students were also inaugurated at the ceremony.
Focus On Civil Technologies
Bilişim Vadisi was established in Kocaeli to transfer Türkiye’s success in the defense industry to civilian technologies. Hosting Türkiye’s Automobile Togg, Bilişim Vadisi has made a name for itself in the technology and innovation ecosystem with its Incubation Business Center, Digital Game and Animation Clustering Center, Open-Source Platform Türkiye, Acceleration Programs, and 42 Software Schools.
Geotechnological Advantages
With its Kocaeli, Istanbul, Izmir, and Baku campuses, Bilişim Vadisi aims to strengthen Türkiye’s existing geopolitical advantages in geotechnological terms and draws attention through the projects it develops with universities, collaborations with leading brands, and the advantages it provides to entrepreneurs. Bilişim Vadisi’s Kocaeli and Istanbul campuses include 475 companies. Approximately 6,000 people work on these two campuses, which have 314 completed projects and 530 ongoing projects.
