Türkiye is Joining 42 in Software Education

Mustafa Varank, the Minister of Industry and Technology, stated that 42, one of the prominent software schools in the world, has added Türkiye to its international network consisting of 23 countries and 36 campuses, and said, “With 42 Kocaeli and 42 Istanbul, our youngsters will receive education at international standards.”

With the agreement signed between Ecole 42 which educates hundreds of thousands of people with its innovative education model in international software, and Bilişim Vadisi, the executive of Türkiye Open-Source Platform, 2 new software schools will be opened in Türkiye.

On his Twitter account, Minister Varank posted that 42, one of the prominent software schools in the world with its innovative education model, has added Türkiye to its international network consisting of 23 countries and 36 campuses, and said that “With 42 Kocaeli and 42 Istanbul, our youngsters will receive education at international standards. Dear 42, welcome aboard!”

42 Schools have also stated that 2 new members will be joining their “42 campus network” partners on their Twitter account and said that “Meet Kocaeli and Istanbul from Türkiye, with the support of our local partners: the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Minister Varank, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Bilişim Vadisi, and TUBITAK Turkish Management Sciences Institute (TUSSIDE). 42 is now operating in 23 countries with 36 campuses.”

Türkiye is proceeding step by step within the framework of the 2023 Industry and Technology Strategy and National Technology Move in line with the goal of 500 thousand software developers.

In the schools that will be opened at Bilişim Vadisi, Kocaeli, Vadistanbul, and Istanbul, software developers will be educated using the learning from each other education model.

When the schools reach their full capacity in their third year, the number of registered students will be 2.250.

Since 2016, Ecole 42 has been establishing new generations of schools and training software developers worldwide with their different approaches to education.

It is popularizing the new education model in many distinct cultures, especially in countries such as France, the USA, Japan, Germany, and South Korea, which are pioneers in technology. In these schools, practical learning methods aimed at various programming languages needed in the industry are presented.

NO CLASSES, NO TEACHERS, NO EXAMS

The school is open to anyone who is 18 or older and wants to be a software developer without any prerequisite of pre-education or degree and accepts applications at specific periods

The students who complete the basic-programming level are specializing in data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence based on the module they chose. PIONEERING IMPLEMENTATION IN TURKIYE

Türkiye Open-Source Platform software schools, which are established under the auspices of Minister Varank and the collaboration between Bilişim Vadisi and TUBITAK, will be the first examples from Türkiye that join the global network of Ecole 42.

42 Schools, which will create a paradigm shift in the education field in Türkiye, will increase Türkiye’s software developer potential, increasing international competition power.

With the artificial intelligence technologies that have critical importance, the need for software developers in all fields that will ensure digital transformation, especially in mobility, industry, finance, 5G, and communication sectors. The increasing number of software developers will increase the investments made in advanced technology in Türkiye.

THE EDUCATION WILL BE FREE

The schools in Bilişim Vadisi and Vadistanbul with 750 session capacities have been established with guided project support funds with the cooperation of the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) and East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA). The students will complete their education for free in the schools that are open for 7 days 24 hours with the support of Platform members.

The information regarding the application processes for the schools that will be open in June and July will be shared on the Türkiye Open-Source Platform website and social media accounts.

In Türkiye Open-Source Platform there are 21 founding members, 7 sponsor members, and 90 stakeholder companies, entrepreneurs, NGOs, universities, and communities.
