The Target is 10 Billion Dollars Together with Kazakhstan

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that there is a 3-billion-dollar foreign trade volume with Kazakhstan and that they believe they will develop many channels and increase the foreign trade volume to 10 billion dollars.

At the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Varank met with Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aviation Industry Bagdat Mussin and his delegation.

In his speech here, Varank stated that Türkiye and Kazakhstan have stable and ever-growing relations on both diplomatic and economic levels, and that the two countries’ relation is an example for Central Asian relations.

Noting that they are attempting to improve relations with many political mechanisms between the countries, Varank said, “We have a target of 10 billion dollars that we set before in terms of foreign trade. We still have a long way to go to reach this goal. Currently, we have a foreign trade volume of 3 billion dollars, but we believe that we will increase this by developing many channels.”

Varank stated that the topics of how to increase commercial relations will be discussed in today’s meetings with the heads of states and that they are interested in sharing the technopark and start-up experience in Türkiye with Kazakhstan.

Varank emphasized the importance of building economies on entrepreneurship and technology-based businesses, noting that the cooperation agreements to be signed today will also serve this goal.

Varank stated that they will carry the two countries’ relations forward, saying, “We will develop works that will reveal the potential between our countries together. Both countries have high potential. We will have caught two much more prosperous countries working together.”

Regarding the visit they paid to Bilişim Vadisi yesterday, Minister Mussin stated that the information technologies industry in Türkiye has proven itself during the pandemic and they are happy to cooperate in these fields.

Mussin stated that they also investigated Turkish digital platforms such as Trendyol and Hepsiburada, that Turkish goods are well known in Kazakhstan, and that cooperation with digital platforms will benefit the two countries economic well-being.

Expressing that they also saw Türkiye’s Automobile TOGG during their visit to the Bilişim Vadisi, Mussin said, “We liked it very much. It would be great if new collaborations began in such big and innovative projects.”

During the meeting, issues such as creating a joint e-signature between the two countries, establishing technoparks belonging to the Organization of Turkish States, and Türkiye’s contributions to Kazakhstan’s transition to the Digital State model and digital transformation, collaboration opportunities to train human resources for the IT sector, potential collaborations in the fields of smart cities, space, standardization, and metrology were discussed.
