Bilişim Vadisi DIGIAGE: The Leading Early-Stage Game Investor of the Past 10 Months
One of Türkiye’s foremost entrepreneurship platforms, the Bilişim Vadisi Digital Gaming and Animation Center (DIGIAGE), continues to solidify its pioneering role in the gaming ecosystem.
According to the v3.7 Gaming Snapshot report published by Startups.watch in October 2024, which provides sector-specific data for Türkiye’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, DIGIAGE stood out as the most active early-stage game fund in 2024. Featured at the top of the “Most Active Gaming Investors in 2024” section, DIGIAGE made six early-stage investments, significantly contributing to the Turkish gaming ecosystem.
DIGIAGE Made Six Early-Stage Investments with Support from APY Ventures
Following a game development camp organized with the support of APY Ventures, DIGIAGE invested in six teams at the early stage. These investments not only offer financial support but also provide comprehensive assistance in areas such as accounting, legal consultancy, finance, and entrepreneurship. From meeting physical needs to providing office support, DIGIAGE ensures that game developers have the infrastructure they need to achieve success.
Building Türkiye’s Largest Gaming Ecosystem
Bilişim Vadisi CEO Erkam Tüzgen highlighted Türkiye’s vision in the gaming sector with the following statement: “We are working to fulfill our ambition of building Türkiye’s largest gaming ecosystem. In this regard, DIGIAGE has embarked on its journey to become the largest gaming ecosystem in Türkiye. Since 2019, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, we have touched the lives of thousands of young people, enabling them to find their place in the gaming industry.”
Partnering in the Stories of Game Studios
APY Ventures Fund Manager Mustafa Keçeli shared his thoughts on their collaboration with DIGIAGE: “When investing in DIGIAGE, our goal was to add value to hundreds of early-stage game studios and be part of their stories. Today, we are taking the first steps toward achieving this goal. We are delighted to support entrepreneurs by expanding DIGIAGE’s contributions to gaming entrepreneurship with financial assistance.”
Eight Game Camps and Over 18,000 Applications
DIGIAGE Director Emre Yıldız shared details about their game development camps: “Starting in 2019 with the ‘Future with Games’ teams, we have organized game development camps annually. More than 18,000 applications have been received from 71 cities in Türkiye and 30 countries. A total of 3,200 young people participated online, and 1,440 attended physically, gaining hands-on experience in game development processes. During the second game development camp held in Baku this year, we also conducted early-stage investment discussions with promising teams. Furthermore, we continue our Erasmus+ projects to nationalize our ecosystem.”
Established in 2019 under the umbrella of Bilişim Vadisi, DIGIAGE has introduced thousands of young game developers to the sector through its programs. With a $500,000 investment from APY Ventures in December 2023, it launched its early-stage game fund, investing in six teams. Through these investments, DIGIAGE supports sustainable growth in the gaming ecosystem and contributes to Türkiye’s vision for gaming entrepreneurship.
