The Department for International Trade (DIT), in partnership with Midlands, is delighted to invite you to join the Midlands Future Mobility Trade Mission in Türkiye 2023. This event is important to showcase how the UK’s expertise in Future Mobility can support EV manufacturing in Türkiye and amplify the technology transfer and collaborations with Türkiye Mobility Industry.
The mission will focus on electric vehicle battery management systems, powertrain, engineering, design, wireless charger, electric engines, retrofit, testing and validation, low carbon emission and net zero policy.
Türkiye has enormous opportunities for future mobility.
- 1.3 M vehicles produced in Türkiye in 2021.Total production capacity is 2 M/year
- Türkiye is 1st ranked in commercial vehicle production in Europe and the market has 8% CAGR for 2002-2020.
- Türkiye is 4th ranked in Europe’s and 13th ranked in global automotive production.
- There are 480+ Tier 1 suppliers in Türkiye.
- There are 159 R&D and design centers accredited by the Ministry of Industry and Technology in Türkiye.
The UK is leading the charge on zero emission vehicles.
2035 delivery plan states the UK’s aim to be the fastest G7 nation to decarbonise vehicles. Petrol, diesel car and van sales will be phased out by 2030 and all new cars and vans must be fully zero emission at the tailpipe by 2035.
