Bilişim Vadisi Reached to İzmir
A new step was taken for the technological integration of Kocaeli and İzmir. The Presidential Decision designating the 180 thousand square meter area in İzmir as the “İzmir Technology Base” of Bilişim Vadisi was published in the Official Gazette. Bilişim Vadisi General Manager Serdar İbrahimcioğlu stated that the technology corridor that will be created between Kocaeli and İzmir will increase global competition in technology with the knowledge and experience of Bilişim Vadisi.
“WE BRING İZMİR AND KOCAELİ TOGETHER”
H.E. Mr. President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held the official opening of Bilişim Vadisi in 2019. At the ceremony, Mr. President stated that they will include the new technology development zone to be established next to the İzmir Institute of Technology under the umbrella of Bilişim Vadisi and noted “Here is the Osmangazi Bridge. Now, you can reach İzmir in 2.5 hours. In this way, we bring Kocaeli and İzmir together technologically. With the knowledge gained here, we are in pursuit of creating an internationally competitive technology base.”
APPROXIMATELY 180 THOUSAND SQUARE METERS
The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette. An area of approximately 180 thousand square meters in İzmir was combined with the corporate structure of Bilişim Vadisi and designated as the “İzmir Technology Base” additional area.

Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, stated in his statement on the subject that thanks to this decision Bilişim Vadisi is Türkiye’s largest technology development zone, and that the technology corridor that will be created between Kocaeli and İzmir will increase global competition in technology with the knowledge, and experience of Bilişim Vadisi.
WALL-LES TECHNOPARKS
Noting that the Bilişim Vadisi developing ecosystem has begun to contribute significantly to the digitalization of the industry and the development of the software industry through the establishment of universities, institutes, and infrastructures, General Manager İbrahimcioğlu stated, “This contribution is integrating and growing with the Bilişim Vadisi İzmir Technology Base. As a result, we are establishing a wall-less Technopark with a decentralized R&D approach.
WILL TRANSFER THE COLLABORATION NETWORK TO IZMIR
Bilişim Vadisi will bring its national and international cooperation network to Izmir in collaboration with Izmir Technology Base. With the high and useful technology, it will produce, İzmir Technology Base will host national and international companies. Entrepreneurs will be supported with the R&D and incubation center to be established here. Bilişim Vadisi, which focuses on civil technologies, will thus contribute to employment and production in İzmir.
