Game developers met in Baku!
The DIGIAGE Baku Game Developers Camp, which aims to develop technological competencies, was completed with enthusiasm in Azerbaijan on 20-22 September 2024.
The DIGIAGE Baku 2nd Game Development Camp, organized in partnership with the Innovation Center operating under the State Citizens Service and Social Innovations Agency (Asan Service) affiliated with the Presidency of Azerbaijan, Bilişim Vadisi, and DIGIAGE, was held on 20-22 September.
The event was successfully held at the main campus of the “Innovations Center” in Baku.
Participants prepared for physical training with a five-day online training!
Before the camp, an extensive and comprehensive online training program was organized for 5 days. The program, which began with “Game Production Process Recommendations”, continued with key topics such as “Game Development Training Recommendations”, “Game Marketing Process”, “Legal Processes in Game Companies”, and “Investment in Game Studios”.
The mentors who carried out the training provided detailed information about the challenges participants may encounter in the game development sector.
Teams presented their projects to investors!
100 people selected from 175 applications were eligible to participate in this camp. Investment negotiations will continue after the camp with the 3 selected teams, and mentoring and free office support will be provided in Innoland. DIGIAGE will also continue mentoring meetings with all 11 teams participating in the camp.
A camp full of insights!
The DIGIAGE Baku Game Development Camp was held with an intense and productive program. After the opening speeches and orientation, participants spent the first day fully engaged in team activities. The “Baku Game Ecosystem Session” brought participants together with important game companies in the sector.
During the three-day camp, participants engaged individually or as teams. On the second day, they had the opportunity to meet with mentors and investors from Azerbaijan and Turkey. Additionally, Vusal Rüstemov, Director of the Baku Innovations Center, and Erkam Tüzgen, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, visited the event and met with participants. Observing the teams’ work on-site, Rüstemov and Tüzgen emphasized the support provided to game developers and offered motivating feedback for future projects.
On the last day, APY Ventures team and mentors carried out the evaluations!
Team competitions continued intensely on the third day with jury evaluations and presentations. The games developed by 11 teams were evaluated by the APY Ventures team and mentors. Investment negotiations will continue, and mentoring support will be provided to the “Untitle”, “Risee Interactive”, and “Legions” teams.
The DIGIAGE Baku Game Development Camp, organized within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the “Innovations Center” and “Bilişim Vadisi Baku” in 2023, aims to foster the development of technological competencies together.
