Mobility Ecosystem Meets at Bilişim Vadisi!

THE FUTURE OF MOBILITY WAS DISCUSSED AT BİLİŞİM VADİSİ!

The Midlands Future Mobility Trade Mission in Türkiye 2023 Conference, organized to develop the mobility ecosystem between Türkiye and the UK, was held at Bilişim Vadisi. During the event, offering a perspective on the future of mobility, trends, opportunities, and collaborations for mobility were discussed.

Midlands Future Mobility Trade Mission in Türkiye 2023 Conference, organized in partnership with the UK Department for International Trade, Midlands and Bilişim Vadisi and in cooperation with the Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD) and with the contributions of the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) in order to develop the mobility ecosystem between Türkiye and the UK, was held at Bilişim Vadisi with the participation and presentations of delegates from 7 Midlands companies operating in the field of automotive and mobility, including Intelligent Energy, Horiba Mira, Aurrigo, Cenex, Versinetic, TAE Solutions and Clean Air Power, and SMMT company and mobility companies AirCar, Niocycle, Saykal Elektronik and Büyütech from Bilişim Vadisi.

The Midlands Future Mobility Trade Mission in Türkiye 2023 Conference focused on hydrogen fuel cells, electrification engineering, electric vehicle battery management systems, test-validation, autonomous driving, precision metal casting solutions in mobility, decarbonization solutions in public transport and fleets, electric charging manufacturing solutions, design, battery control systems and wireless charging, hydrogen fuel use in internal combustion engines, powertrain, electric motors, retrofit, low carbon emission, and net zero policy.

Midlands Future Mobility Trade Mission in Türkiye 2023 Conference started with the opening speeches of David Zevulun, Midlands Engine Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Champion,Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region, Mr. A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, Mr. Atacan Güner, Board Member of TAYSAD, and Mr. Ben Aldred, Deputy Undersecretary for Trade for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Trade Director for Türkiye at the UK Department for International Trade.

Emphasizing the earthquake in his opening speech, the UK-Midlands Region Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Sector from the Türkiye Eastern Europe and Central Asia Region, stating that they once again understood that they have a great responsibility to protect the world and create a better, safer, and more environmentally friendly mobility for the future. Mr. David Zevulun said: “We are here today to exchange information and explore future mobility opportunities. We believe that Türkiye and the UK Midlands will be great partners in this goal.”

“WE CAN BUILD THE MOBILITY OF THE FUTURE BY WORKING TOGETHER”

A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, started his opening speech by commemorating the people who lost their lives in the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, which was described as the disaster of the century, and said, “We can heal our wounds by working harder. Today I am very happy to come together with the UK for the Midlands Engine Trade Mission Program. In 2019, when Bilişim Vadisi was inaugurated, Togg was also launched. So far, as Bilişim Vadisi, we are hosting more than 120 mobility companies. We run 8-week mobility acceleration programs to develop our ecosystem. We provide mentorships to entrepreneurs through these programs” Underlining that they see the future of mobility in working together and succeeding, A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu said, “We can build the mobility of the future by working together.”

BEN ALDRED, DEPUTY UNDERSECRETARY OF TRADE FOR EASTERN EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA AND DIRECTOR OF TRADE IN TÜRKİYE AT THE UNITED KINGDOM MINISTRY OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE:

Stating that the UK stands by Türkiye, Ben Aldred, Deputy Under-Secretary of State for Trade for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Trade Director for Türkiye at the UK Department for International Trade, said: “We want to look towards the future. The UK is committed to Türkiye’s recovery. In my previous role, I was the lead negotiator to remove technical trade barriers in the UK. What we really understood in this role was to make sure that countries and sectors work together and develop the trade and innovation ecosystem. It was also to regulate trade in order to move it forward. The future is different, the future is in technology. As the UK Ministry of Business and Trade, we would like to thank Bilişim Vadisi for hosting this event in the kindest way on this beautiful campus.”

ATACAN GÜNER, TAYSAD BOARD MEMBER:

“TAYSAD AIMS TO FORM STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH MOBILITY COMPANIES”

Emphasizing that the United Kingdom is one of TAYSAD’s export target countries, TAYSAD Board Member Atacan Güner said, “TAYSAD aims to establish strategic partnerships with automotive manufacturers, suppliers and mobility companies in target countries to increase the supply of automotive supplier industry. I hope that this event will be a strategic event for TAYSAD members and Midlands companies.”

At the Conference, which was organized to develop the mobility ecosystem between the two countries, the UK’s work on future mobility, EVs, and related technologies, and its expertise in mobility were shared with electric vehicle manufacturers in Türkiye. Furthermore, B2B meetings were held on the second day of the event with experienced companies working in the field of mobility in both countries. Companies had the opportunity to develop their networks and discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in different fields.
