MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION OF TURKIC STATES MET IN KAZAKHSTAN

MEGA TECHNOLOGY CORRIDOR WILL EXTEND FROM TÜRKİYE TO CENTRAL ASIA

The 2022 Digital Bridge Forum Fair organized in Kazakhstan was held between 28-29 September with the participation of members of the Organization of Turkic States. A cooperation protocol was signed between Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan at the fair, which was attended by Mr. Mustafa Varank, Minister of Technology and Industry, and A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, our General Manager, as the speakers.

The Digital Bridge Forum 2022, which Turkic Republics attended, was held in Astana on September 28-29, organized by the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Space Industry, and Astana Hub.

During the event, a cooperation protocol was signed with the participation of the President of Kazakhstan to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem among the 5 member countries, which are Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and to strengthen the communication, coordination and ecosystem of technoparks in the Turkic Republics.

THE FOCUS WAS ON BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN THE TECHNOLOGY SECTOR

The forum, which brought together high-level government officials, ambassadors, technoparks, entrepreneurs, and investors from the Turkic Republics and other countries, addressed current technological developments, innovation, big data, cloud solutions, digital transformation services, and digital infrastructure investment. New trends, challenges, development of information technologies, cooperation in technology and economy were discussed on a Central Asian and global scale. The event, which was attended by the Turkic Republics, also focused on business opportunities in the technology field. Opinion leaders and IT entrepreneurs shared their knowledge, experiences, and ideas at the event.

Mr. Mustafa Varank, Minister of Technology and Industry, attended the panel on “Advantages and Challenges of the Unified Digital Ecosystem” as a speaker. The ministers of technology and industry of the participating country organizations also attended the panel. Participants in the panel titled “Facilitators of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem,” which included general managers of technoparks in the Turkic Republics as speakers, shared trends, challenges, and progress in information technologies in their countries and discussed potential cooperation of technoparks in member states of the OTS (Organization of Turkic States). The General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, who was among the panelists, explained the objectives and projects of Bilişim Vadisi to the participants.

“WE REALIZED THE VISION OF MEGA TECHNOLOGY CORRIDOR”

Noting that Bilişim Vadisi is not the only technology development zone, A Serdar İbrahimcioğlu stated that they have realized the vision of Mega Technology Corridor with its Headquarters in Kocaeli province, and campuses in Istanbul and Izmir. Stating that Bilişim Vadisi is a formation established under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, İbrahimcioğlu said, “We have a venture capital investment fund within Bilişim Vadisi. We make investments not only in Türkiye but also abroad with this investment fund.” Our General Manager İbrahimcioğlu emphasized that when we examine technological strategies around the world, the USA is talking about “Manufacturing USA”, Europe is talking about “Industry 4.0”, China is talking about “Digital Silkroad 2025”, Japan is talking about “Society 5.0”, while Türkiye is working under the motivation of the National Technology Move.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FROM TURKIYE TO TURKIC REPUBLICS

Underlining the importance of the protocol signed between the technology development zones (technoparks) within the members of the Organization of Turkic States, İbrahimcioğlu said, “It is wonderful that five countries are here together today. Especially this protocol we signed is the first step for us. We will extend the vision of the Mega Technology Corridor from Istanbul to Baku, Baku to Astana, Astana to Tashkent, and Tashkent to Bishkek. Our technology and knowledge capital will be transferred through this technology corridor if such a mega technology corridor is established between these countries. When such a mega technology corridor is established between these countries, our technology and knowledge capital will be transferred through this technology corridor.

FIVE ENTREPRENEURS OF BİLİŞİM VADİSİ PARTICIPATED IN THE FAIR

In this fair, which we attended as Bilişim Vadisi, 5 of our entrepreneurs (Turan Teknoloji, Bluetech, Clouplay, Open Money, and PEYK) working on civil technologies participated with their booths. On the last day of the two-day fair, 3 of our entrepreneurs participated in the Startup Battle organized by Astana Hub, and our start-up company PEYK made it to the finals out of the participants.
