Developing the Digital & Robotic Coding Skills of Instructors and Youth
LTT-4
The LTT-4 training, held from June 3-7, 2024, was an international youth education program featuring participants from the Netherlands, Italy, and Turkey. This program aimed not only to enhance the participants’ digital and technological skills but also to foster international cooperation by providing them with the opportunity to experience cultural diversity.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in various projects related to Arduino, game development, 3D design, and artificial intelligence. They reinforced their theoretical knowledge through hands-on experience using educational materials such as Red-Kit and Blue-Kit sets. In addition to the technical training, cultural tours in Istanbul and technical visits to Bilişim Vadisi enriched their understanding, allowing participants to expand both their technical and cultural knowledge.
This international program played a significant role in enhancing participants’ cultural awareness, while also fostering lasting friendships and collaboration among young people from different countries. By the end of the training, participants had not only strengthened their skills in the digital realm but also emerged as more culturally adept individuals, having successfully completed the program.
Day 1
Day 2
On the second day, participants focused on game development using the Blue-Kit sets. This session covered key topics such as game mechanics, sensor integration, and user experience design. Following this, participants created 3D models using the Tinkercad program and learned about the processes involved in 3D printing. Throughout the design phase, fundamental CAD principles were taught to further enhance participants’ 3D design skills. The day concluded with the successful completion of these activities.
Day 3
On the third day, participants developed various sensor-related projects using the Red-Kit training set and the C programming language. This session focused on collecting and processing sensor data. Afterward, participants used both the Blue-Kit and Red-Kit sets to develop unique projects, providing them with the opportunity to apply the knowledge they had acquired in a practical setting. The day concluded with the successful completion of these projects.
Day 4
On the fourth day, participants continued their game development journey, delving into advanced topics such as game design, user interface, and game logic. Following this, they used the Canva platform to create modern and impactful presentations, with a focus on the fundamental principles of presentation design and visual communication strategies. Additionally, projects were developed using various AI tools, providing participants with hands-on experience in applying and integrating AI technologies.
Later in the day, participants had the opportunity to meet with innovative technology firms at Bilişim Vadisi, further expanding their understanding of cutting-edge developments. The day continued with a cultural tour of Istanbul, where participants explored the city’s historical and cultural landmarks. This enriching tour offered insights into Istanbul’s rich cultural heritage, rounding off the day with memorable experiences.
Day 5
On the fifth and final day of the training, participants reviewed the knowledge and projects they had worked on throughout the week, conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the program. During this session, participants shared their experiences with each other and discussed the key takeaways they gained from the training. Following the program’s official closing, participants prepared for their return journey and headed to the airport. The week, filled with international collaboration and cultural exchange, was highlighted as a significant contributor to both their career advancement and personal development.
